After launching three churches, and working with numerous church plants, I understand that church starters hit a wall of weariness at the end of the second year. It’s a dangerous time for that leader and he needs to refocus.
By the fall of 2008 I had launched my third church. The ministry field was difficult and by late summer of 2009 I needed help. I began to pray and God brought Chad Hambrick to my church as a consultant with “the abiding journey” in December.
Chad began with weekly meetings in which he listened to me and encouraged me to refocus on abiding, serving and multiplying. He guided me on my spiritual journey and to rethink my philosophy of ministry. He connected people and resources from his network to a new church with limited funds and directed some of our events and activities. I took his advice and his assignments seriously and implemented his suggestions on a weekly basis.
It’s now summer of 2010 and we’re experiencing fruit from the refocus. We’re on track to make disciples that will operate from the overflow and not their reserve. Chad didn’t change my church, he helped me return to my first love while planting a church in a difficult place.
Sincerely,
